Y-CHOICES Program

NIDYLSIG was funded by Pact Zambia under the PEPFAR I/ USAID with a total of ZMK 513,732,600.00 to implement the Youth and children with health options involving community engagement strategies for the period of 16 months from (28th January 2009 to 30th April 2010). The Y–CHOICES programme was an HIV and AIDS prevention programme focusing on promoting abstinence and being faithful among young people aged 10 – 24 years by establishing healthy behaviour patterns that can lead to a lifetime of benefits both in HIV prevention and in overcoming HIV-related stigma.  OVC and HIV Awareness Project

The organisation was funded by Youth Alive Zambia through CHAZ under the Global Fund round 8 to implement the orphans and vulnerable children and HIV awareness with the total amount of ZMK 540,652,730.00 from (June 2010 to March 2012). The main aim of the project was to contribute to the fight against HIV and AIDS pandemic among the youth and children in school by the end of March 2012 of Nchelenge District through OVC support and HIV and AIDS awareness.  Community OVC Partnership Project

The Community OVC partnership project is new project funded under the Sustainability through Economic Strengthening, Prevention and Support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children, youth and other vulnerable populations (STEPS OVC) a three year multi-sectoral HIV and AIDS program aiming to provide broad, effective support for HIV prevention and behaviour change initiatives in order to reduce HIV transmission while at the same time helping Zambian institutions (state and non-state) develop the ability to better care for and support OVC, at-risk youth and adults, and other vulnerable populations more effectively, efficiently, and in a more sustainable way.  Under this partnership, the organisation has been receiving fund for the implementation of the same project at a total of ZMK262, 258,960.00 from (14th June 2011 to September 2011), with cost extension based on annual performance. Under the STEPS OVC project NIDYLSIG are working within the three strategic objectives;-

SO1:    Ensure that individuals and households affected by and vulnerable to HIV and AIDS access holistic, gender-sensitive, high-quality HIV prevention, care and support.

SO2:    Strengthen the continuum of effective, efficient and sustainable HIV prevention, care and support

SO3:    Improved efficiency, sustainability and Zambian leadership of HIV and AIDS related services including engagement with the private sector. Read More
